Greece stands today as a country that has not only overcome a decade of unprecedented challenges but has also emerged stronger, more resilient and more dynamic.

Over the past years, we have pursued a consistent and forward-looking economic strategy built on fiscal responsibility, reform implementation and the creation of a stable and predictable environment for growth and investment.

The results are tangible: Greece has achieved sustained growth, regained investment-grade status and continues to attract international investors’ confidence.

The theme of this year’s Capital Link Forum, “Building on Success: Unlocking Greece’s Investment Potential” accurately captures the spirit of our country’s current economic trajectory.

Greece is no longer defined by crisis; it is defined by opportunity.

Through prudent management and structural reforms, we have restored macroeconomic stability and strengthened our financial sector.

At the same time, we have enhanced the competitiveness of our economy by promoting digital transformation, supporting innovation and facilitating strategic investments across key sectors.

However, this progress unfolds amid a complex global and european environment.

Persistent geopolitical and trade tensions, energy market volatility, inflationary pressures and the ongoing consequences of climate change continue to shape the global economy.

Europe faces the dual challenge of ensuring energy security while accelerating the green and digital transitions.

These dynamics require vigilance, adaptability and cooperation among nations – particularly within the European Union – to safeguard stability and sustain growth.

In this context, Greece remains a pillar of stability and reliability in the region.

We are actively engaging with our European partners to address common challenges, strengthen supply chains and enhance strategic autonomy.

Our policy agenda continues to focus on reforms that boost productivity, promote innovation and ensure social cohesion.

Infrastructure, energy, green transition, tourism, shipping and technology are pillars of this new growth model.

The Government continues to implement projects that upgrade Greece’s connectivity, enhance sustainability and create high-quality jobs.

We remain firmly committed to a transparent, investor-friendly framework – one that encourages public-private partnerships and promotes long-term value creation.

The international investment community has recognized Greece’s progress.

Capital inflows are increasing and multinational companies are expanding their operations in our country.

The recent inflow of foreign direct investment across diverse sectors reflects growing confidence in the Greek economy’s prospects and resilience.

This positive momentum must be maintained through continued reforms, a stable political and economic environment and close cooperation between the public and private sectors.

The Capital Link Invest in Greece Forum serves as a vital platform for dialogue between Greece and the global business community.

It provides an opportunity to present Greece’s achievements, share our strategic vision and explore partnerships that will shape the next chapter of our country’s development.

I commend Capital Link for its long-standing role in promoting Greece as a competitive investment destination and for strengthening the bridge between Athens and New York.

As we look to the future, our focus remains on sustainable and inclusive growth – growth that benefits citizens, businesses, and society as a whole.

By unlocking our full investment potential, Greece can continue to build on its success story and emerge as a leading economic hub in Southeastern Europe and the Mediterranean.
